Doug Potvin
Episode Summary: In an industry (logistics) that boasts more than its fair share of traditionalists when it comes to outlooks on doing business and implementing technology, Trinity Logistics is moving full-steam with implementing the use of AI-powered solutions.
“Our CTO gave a presentation, and part of our 2024 fiscal year strategy and 2025 fiscal year strategy is implementation of AI. In fact, he said in this presentation ‘I’m required to mention AI now in all of my presentations ‘cause that’s where we are headed,” said Trinity CFO Doug Potvin.
That said, in the latest episode of the Emagia AI For Finance podcast, Potvin stresses that Trinity’s implementations are working around the idea of AI helping staff become more efficient and assist with client communication rather than replace headcount. Potvin notes that AI is here as “a tool to better everything that you have going on.” However, the secret to success at Trinity has been about smart implementation pace, trial-and-error on a small scale first, building off of lessons learned, and, critically, communicating with and educating everyone involved in the chain.
